Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid.

Don’t go to your grave with cool visions in you.

Visions are holy commodities. Treat them with the utmost respect.

Leadership is the courage to define your current reality.

All leaders are always leading in situations where situations are a) going down, b) in status quo, or c) in an up-turn. Each of these requires a different leadership skill set. Circle which one you’re in.

In a downturn, a leader has to “declare an emergency,” (“put out a fire.”)

In a “status quo,” circumstance, a leader has to “set a fire.”

In an upturn, a leader has to “fuel the fire.”

Your whole team all know what reality you’re in. They’re waiting for you to have the courage to step up and lead them out of the reality.

Leadership is the courage to build a fantastic culture.

According to “Best Workplaces” there is a scale of Flourishing, Healthy, Toxic.

People join organizations. They leave managers.

Staff cultures will only ever be as healthy as the CEO or the Senior Pastor wants them to be. Delegating or abdicating this to HR or anyone else is the absolute kiss of death. To delegate it is to doom it forever.

Enormous courage is required to make significant gains in your organizational health.

We only have builders and busters. We’re no longer going to pay people to bruise or bust our culture.

You will not believe the performance differential between a Flourishing task and a Toxic staff.

Leadership is the courage to establish and enforce values.

Announce the “inviolable value.”

Leadership is the courage to keep leading strong in spite of blistering criticism.

Leadership is the courage to keep leading strong in spite of heartache and heartbreak.

Leadership is the courage to finish strong.
