“When you love somebody, you live it.”

— live notes —

…with Pastor Stephen Sundar and Bill Hybels

We all love “rags to riches stories.” But if we’re not careful, we will begin to think that everything should build and grow, up and to the right. But what if God called certain leaders to lead things that were important, but highly unlikely to see any heights of success…ever. Would you be willing to lead something like that? Would you give God your best leadership, every day?

We want to address the subtle addiction to the narcotic of success in this session. I would imagine that we’re all addicted to leadership that leads to success, fame, growth, and a little retirement. I think we can get hooked on the narcotic of growth and success.

[Dr. Wess Stafford stepping in for Pastor Stephen Sundar]

I know there are going to be surprises in heaven, who the real heroes were among us.

“We need to pray all day just to get to sunset.” – Pastor in Ethiopia.

[Mama Maggie Gobran]

“Among them, the Creator is hidden. There is mystery among the poor.”

Silence your body, to listen to your words. Silence your tongue, to listen to your thoughts. Silence your thoughts, to listen to your heart…beating. Silence your heart, to listen to your spirit. And silence your spirit, to listen to His Spirit. In silence, you leave many, and you be with the One.

[Bill Hybels]

Jeremiah is torn between his calling and his ache for success.
