It seems to me that they're forgetting that there was an Old Testament where God explicitly commanded his people to go to war. I feel like this is a common mistake/misunderstanding in most Christians. They tend to bifurcate the Bible when it comes to these issues. When voicing support for War, they cite the Old Testament; when voicing opposition for War (or support of peace) the cite the "meekness" of Jesus in the New Testament. They seem to forget that our God is both God of the Old Testament AND the New Testament.
